International companies operating in Kuwait are an increasingly important part of the local real estate market. In 2013, 91 international companies (ICs) were registered in the country, and 49 of them were sharia-compliant. At the same time, the country's real estate and capital markets were experiencing rapid growth.
Kuwait has been a leading player in the global Islamic finance industry since the early 1970s. The country played a key role in establishing the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, a pan-Islamic coalition aimed at enhancing cooperation in various fields, including finance. It also helped organise a series of international meetings on Islamic finance.
Fahad Al Rajaan began عقارات الامارات his career as a manager at the Kuwait Investment Company, founded in 1961. The company played an important role in the development of Kuwait's economy, protected the country from economic crises, and set high standards in the investment industry. Fahad Al Rajaan left the Kuwait Investment Company in 1981 to become the Managing Director and Chairman of the Kuwait Real Estate Investment Consortium (KREIC). KREIC has invested in international projects and businesses since its inception.
